It’s a really exciting week for everyone involved with The Hargreaves Narrowboat Trust as we await the launch of our brand new, all electric narrowboat. She’s been aptly named Hargreaves II and her build is estimated to be completed this week.
Hargreaves II is fully electric and powered by batteries charged from a large Solar array on the roof and with additional charge from our shore power connection at our mooring. This makes ‘Hargreaves II’ completely environmentally friendly with electric propulsion and electric heating and full 240v power on board without a generator.
We’ve added some more images to our New Narrowboat Page so head over and take a look. There are still some final items for completion on the internal fitting, such as floor coverings etc but Hargreaves II is nearly complete and we can’t wait to start taking people aboard.
Once launched she will be heading for our regular mooring at Boot Wharf, Nuneaton, ready for commissioning and preparation.
We are still following Government Guidelines for COVID-19 and are planning to resume trips from 21st June, all of which will be aboard our brand new narrowboat.
