The Hargreaves Narrowboat Trust is a charity founded over 25 years ago, “to improve the quality of life for people, who by virtue of age, infirmity, physical disability, mental disorder or social factors, are disadvantaged or deprived”, and to provide them with an experience outside of their normal environment.
The trust achieves this by providing day trips for up to 12 passengers, from April to October each year, on a wheelchair friendly narrowboat.
We are a small, local charity and receive no regular support from either the Local Authority or Government funding.
Although the costs of our operation are covered by our trip donations we always welcome additional donations.
These donations help us to maintain the narrowboat and from time to time aid us to buy necessary equipment and training in order to enhance our work. Please contact email@example.com to discuss how best to donate.
Sponsor a Day Trip
If you belong to a similar fundraising organisation you might like to sponsor a day trip. About 15% of our trips are paid for by third parties and it is a great way for us both to fulfil our charitable objectives. For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
